Accessibility
A shopping site that only works for some shoppers is not a good shopping site. We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with a logical heading order and a skip-to-content link
- Keyboard-accessible navigation, dropdowns, search, dialogs, tabs, and accordions with visible focus states
- Focus is trapped inside open menus and dialogs and restored on close
- Form fields have labels; errors are described in text, not only color
- Text and controls meet AA contrast; touch targets are at least 44 × 44 pixels
- Alternative text on images; illustrative images are labeled as such
- Comparison tables use proper headers and a caption, and remain scrollable rather than clipped on small screens
- Saved and compare actions are announced to screen readers
- Motion respects
prefers-reduced-motion; nothing autoplays with sound - Layouts reflow at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling
Known limitations
Comparison tables scroll sideways on small screens rather than reflowing. Third-party retailer pages we link to are outside our control.
Testing
We check every page type with keyboard-only navigation, at 200% zoom, and at phone width, and we run automated checks for contrast and structure before publishing. We welcome reports of anything we missed.
