The short answer: Rolling your back along a padded wheel with a groove for the spine feels good for a minute or two. Staying balanced on it is a skill, the three sizes take a cupboard, and two of three testers had stopped using it within a month.

Buy it if
People who already use a foam roller and want a narrower, deeper pass along the spine.
Skip it if
You have never used a roller, you have hard floors and no mat, or you dislike balancing.
Best feature
The narrow channel lets you roll along the spine without pressing on it.
Biggest annoyance
Unstable, awkward to store, and easy to abandon.
The catch
Three wheels take a lot of cupboard and two of them rarely leave the case; using the wheel well needs practice that the novelty does not survive.

The 20-second verdict

Fun the first week, shelf the second Rolling your back along a padded wheel with a groove for the spine feels good for a minute or two. Staying balanced on it is a skill, the three sizes take a cupboard, and two of three testers had stopped using it within a month. Best for: People who already use a foam roller and want a narrower, deeper pass along the spine. Skip if: You have never used a roller, you have hard floors and no mat, or you dislike balancing.

What we loved, and what annoyed us

What we loved

  • Centre groove keeps pressure off the spine
  • Padding is softer than a foam roller
  • Rated for heavy users

What annoyed us

  • Unstable; easy to tip sideways
  • Three wheels is two more than most people use
  • Bulky to store even in the case
  • Needs a mat on hard floors

What We Loved

The large wheel, with a mat underneath and a hand on the floor for balance, gives a slow, deep pass along the back that a foam roller cannot match because the groove keeps the spine itself clear. The padding is kinder than a GRID roller. On a Sunday evening after a long drive it was the thing we reached for, for about three weeks.

What Annoyed Us

Balance is the problem: shift your weight a little and the wheel tips and you are on the floor. The small wheel is intense and mostly stayed in the case. The case is the size of a small suitcase and lives under a bed. By week five it was a piece of furniture, and by week eight it was in the cupboard.

The Catch

Novelty and bulk. The wheel does one thing that a roller does not, and that thing requires practice and floor space. Most people, in our small sample, did not keep practising.

Who it is for

  • Committed roller users who want a spinal groove
  • People with floor space and a mat

Who should skip it

  • Anyone new to rolling
  • Small flats and shared living rooms

Performance

The wheels are rigid and the padding has not compressed. They do what is claimed mechanically. The problem is not the product breaking; it is the product being used. Usage logs across three testers showed the large wheel used regularly for a month and rarely after, and the two smaller wheels used a handful of times in total.

Ease of use, design, and build quality

Ease of use

Sit on the mat, lean back onto the wheel, and roll by walking the feet. Keep a hand down. Getting off gracefully is the hardest part. The case has a handle and zips shut over all three wheels.

Design and build quality

Three green padded wheels with a black centre groove, nested inside each other in a black case. They look like gym equipment and take up space like it.

Privacy and connectivity

No app, no account, nothing to connect.

Safety notes

Use on a mat, keep a hand on the floor, and go slowly; tipping sideways off the large wheel onto a hard floor is a real possibility. Manufacturer publishes a maximum user weight.

Cleaning, maintenance, and ongoing costs

Wipe with a damp cloth. Nothing to replace.

What it keeps costing you

Ongoing costs
ConsumablesNone
Expected lifeMany years; the risk is disuse, not wear

Value

You get three wheels where one would do, and you pay for all three plus a case. A single large wheel, if you want to try the idea, is the sensible version of this product.

Alternatives

If you want a roller that gets used

TriggerPoint GRID 13-inch is stable, compact, and still in daily use a year on.

If you want to try the wheel idea

Chirp sells the large wheel on its own, which is the one you would use.

Reader questions

Which wheel do people actually use?
The largest. The two smaller ones stayed in the case for most of our testing.
Can I use it on a hard floor?
With a mat, yes; without one it slides and a fall hurts.
