What We Loved
The way the curlers take hair is the thing. Hold a damp section near the barrel and it wraps itself, evenly, with no clumps. The firm smoothing brush is the attachment we reached for most: a few passes on damp hair and the frizz that usually needs a flat iron is gone. Everything clicks into place with a satisfying, precise feel, and the case means it lives in a drawer instead of a heap.
What Annoyed Us
Drying hair from wet with the Coanda dryer attachment is slower than with a proper dryer, so most mornings started with a different dryer before this came out. The attachments are numerous and we used three of them. And the cost sits in the back of your mind every time it goes back in the case.
The Catch
Air curls are gentle, which is the point, but they are also short-lived; ours were waves by five o'clock. A hot iron makes curls that last. The cost is the real catch: the difference between this and a mid-range styler is real, and it is also smaller than the gap in outlay.

Performance
The curlers are the best we have used at grabbing hair; the Shark needs more coaxing. The smoothing brushes produce a straighter, shinier finish than the Shark's paddle brush. Drying from wet is the weak spot; the dryer attachment gets there, but a conventional dryer is faster. After a year the motor and attachments behave exactly as they did new.

The controls are simple and the attachments swap with a button. There is still a learning curve with the curlers, mostly about how damp hair should be, but it is shorter than with cheaper stylers.
