What We Loved
For pour-over coffee it is the tool. Set 205°F, walk away, and it is waiting at temperature when you are ready. The spout lets you pour slowly enough to bloom grounds properly without splashing. The counterbalanced handle makes a full kettle feel lighter than it is.
What Annoyed Us
Everything non-coffee. Filling it for pasta means two boils. Boiling for tea takes longer than the cheap kettle it replaced. The lid is a friction fit that occasionally does not seat.
The Catch
Most of what makes it special — the pour, the precision, the hold — only matters if you brew pour-over or fussy teas. If you do not, you are paying for looks and a slower boil.
