What We Loved
On a July hike we filled it with ice at seven in the morning and there was still ice at dinner. The strap on the Flex Cap turned out to be how we carry it most of the time, two fingers hooked through, and it has not frayed. The coating has gone slightly matte where hands grip it, and the dents on the base from two drops onto pavement are cosmetic; the vacuum seal held.
What Annoyed Us
Full, it weighs enough that a tote bag lists to one side. The cap needs a couple of turns and does not open one-handed. The wide mouth means that drinking while walking is a wet business, exactly as with the Nalgene.
The Catch
Weight and bulk. It is the right bottle for a day outside and the wrong one for a laptop bag on a crowded train. Buy the size you will actually carry, not the one that sounds impressive.

Performance
Cold retention is the headline and it delivers: ice lasts through a working day indoors and most of a day in the sun. Hot drinks stay hot for a morning. The Flex Cap has never leaked in a bag when tightened. The vacuum seal survived two hard drops that dented the base.
