What We Loved
Sheet changes at midnight are a one-handed lift with this mattress, which is more than we can say for the spring one it replaced. It fits our standard crib with no gap at the sides, the surface is genuinely firm, and after nine months there is no dip where the baby sleeps. The cover has shrugged off two overnight leaks with nothing reaching the foam.
What Annoyed Us
Out of the box it was a rolled brick that took most of two days to reach full height, and the smell lingered a day beyond that. The cover zipper is flimsy and we treat it gently. Once our toddler started standing and bouncing, the edges compressed visibly under her feet, though they spring back.
The Catch
This is the entry-level version of a category where you can spend ten times as much. You do not get a breathable core, a softer toddler side or a thick quilted cover, and the edge foam is not as stiff as a coil mattress.
