What We Loved
The bottom-up zipper is the detail that matters at three in the morning: unzip from the feet, change the diaper, zip back up, and the arms never come out. Ten months of nightly use and near-daily washing have faded the print a little and pilled the cotton, but the zipper still runs true and nothing has torn. The cut is roomy enough at the hips that our baby kicks freely, which is what the hip-health claim is about.
What Annoyed Us
In January the nursery dropped low enough that a 0.5 TOG sack was clearly not enough, and we ended up with fleece pyjamas underneath. The medium was big on a baby at the low end of its weight range, with fabric bunching at the shoulders. The zipper pull is small for tired fingers.
The Catch
This is a warm-weather and warm-house sack. HALO sells warmer versions and you may need one of each, which turns an inexpensive item into two. It also does nothing a plain cotton sack from any brand does not; you are paying for the zipper direction and the consistency.

Performance
It keeps the baby covered, which is the whole job. The cotton breathes well enough that we have not had a sweaty back on warm nights, and the shoulder openings are cut so small arms cannot slip inside. It travelled in a bag to three houses without complaint.
