What We Loved
It slides into a card slot and you forget it is there. When a wallet was in a coat pocket in the hall, the app rang it and we heard it, faintly, through the leather. That is a real convenience. It has been through a washing machine once by accident and still works, which is more than the wallet managed.
What Annoyed Us
A wallet left in a taxi is the scenario people buy this for. When it happened, the app showed the pickup location from an hour before and never updated, because no one running the Tile app came near it. The ring is quiet inside a stuffed wallet. And in a few years the battery dies and the whole card goes in the bin.
The Catch
Within Bluetooth range it is a mildly useful wallet finder. Beyond it, in our experience, it is a hope. Apple's and Google's networks are far denser, and card-shaped trackers for those networks now exist.

Performance
Bluetooth ring works but is quiet through leather. The network update on a lost wallet did not happen in our one real test, and simulated tests around town updated only occasionally. Waterproofing is real.

Setup is quick in the Tile app. It fits card slots that an AirTag never will.

A matte black card with slightly rounded edges and a speaker grille. It is thin enough to be unremarkable, which is the point.
