What We Loved
With a large dog and two cats drinking from it, the reservoir kept up for three or four days at a time. The dog, who had never shown interest in a cat fountain, drinks from the falling stream. When it is clean and full it is quiet, and the filter keeps the water clear. The wide bowl area lets two animals drink at once without a standoff.
What Annoyed Us
Within a week the pump's intake grille is furred over with dog hair and the flow drops. Cleaning means pulling the pump, prising off its cover, and picking hair out of the impeller. The ramp and the reservoir have ridges and corners a brush struggles with. And when the water runs low, it rattles like a coffee machine.
The Catch
This fountain is only quiet and pleasant if you commit to a full clean every week, pump included. In a hairy household that is not optional, and it is a fiddly twenty minutes each time.
