What We Loved
Our seventy-pound test dog is an aggressive eater who used to push a plastic bowl across the kitchen and into the wall every morning. Eleven months on, the Boomer has not moved once. The rubber ring underneath grips the tile like it was glued, and the weight of the double-wall body does the rest. It has been through the dishwasher several times a week and the inside looks exactly as it did on day one.
What Annoyed Us
The powder-coat finish is tougher than paint but not invincible; one drop onto the patio left a chip on the rim that has slowly grown. It is also awkward to carry in a bag for the car because it does not nest or fold. And the price makes you feel silly explaining it to guests.
The Catch
The double wall keeps water noticeably cooler for a couple of hours, not all day, and it does not stop a bowl of water being knocked over by a paw. It is a superior bowl, not a different category of object.

Performance
It does the two things a bowl can do: hold food and not move. The non-slip ring is the best we have used, better than the thin rubber rings on cheaper bowls that peel off in the dishwasher. The interior is smooth enough that dried kibble residue rinses off without scrubbing, and there is no seam for gunk to collect in.
