What We Loved
On the spaniel, who shakes through fireworks, the jacket seemed to take the edge off; she lay down sooner and panted less, though she was also in a familiar room with the radio on, so we cannot separate the causes. The fabric is soft, the hook-and-loop wraps snugly and evenly, and it has washed well. It is a well-made piece of dog clothing.
What Annoyed Us
The shepherd mix treated it as an insult and spent the storm trying to bite it off, which was worse than the storm. Putting it on a dog already frightened is its own stress. And whatever it did for the spaniel, it did not do it every time.
The Catch
The evidence for pressure wraps is mostly owner reports, and our own were mixed. It is cheap enough and harmless enough to try on a dog that likes being dressed. It is not a solution for severe fear, and a vet or behaviourist is.
